The process of web designing basically involves a routine procedure of the same tasks that have to be repeated for every project. Web designers will find themselves saving a lot of time by using a detailed website design and a clearly defined procedure in the development of the project. Creating a clear procedure to follow during a web designer’s project can help to organize ideas, accelerate the project and help the client understand more about what the project is all about.
How to Plan your web designing projects
This is no doubt the most important phase of the whole project, as it will mark the route the project is to take. This is where the contact with a client is essential as together with the web designer they will have to decide what it is they wish to achieve with the project. The client will have to voice the aims he or she wishes to achieve, the public that has to be targeted or any other suggestions or thoughts about the creation of the website.
Once all the ideas and points have been covered, a project plan, where all the agreed on points are noted clearly is made. This document will be used as a reference during the whole project. Together with this project plan a site map can be used to allow other users to find information rapidly without getting lost along the way.
Next the contracts will have to be registered in which each role is clearly designated, including financial issues and copyright. This document is essential and this is where all papers referring to the terms of payment, closure clauses for the project, timelines and copyright should be clearly noted.
It is also important to develop and confirm information including username, password, FTP host, database configuration and control panel login information as well as any additional languages that have been installed. Any additional software or resources should also be added to the budget.
During the design stage a web designer will be developing the plan and turning it into a tangible project. This will include the documented website and the first visual representation. Once the designing process is complete the website should start to take form. Only the text will be missing at this stage.
The development stage is when all the work such as uploading text and programming is carried out. It is essential all codes are kept well-organized and a constant reference to the details of the plan is necessary, in order for the website to become a finalized product.
Once the website is ready the next phase is the launching to the public. This is where the testing will be important as well as feedback on the interactivity of the website’s features. There will be other details such as elements of design to adjust and how the website works for users. The website will need to be moved to a web server, which should also be tested as not all have the same features that work well for the website.
